TransitGoCity privacy policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

1. Controller.

Oscar Aguado Gómez. Contact: [email protected].

2. Data stored on your device.

TransitGoCity stores locally, on your own device (not on a server linked to your identity): favourite stops, recent stops (up to 7 days), followed lines, selected location and your app settings. This data is deleted if you uninstall the app or clear its data from the system settings.

3. Location.

If you grant location permission, TransitGoCity uses it to show you the nearest stops, detect the location automatically and (if you enable it) open the card of your nearest favourite stop. To find the nearest location, the coordinates are sent to TransitGoCity's servers at the time of the request, without linking them to any identity and without storing them. Location is never used while the app is in the background.

4. Data sent to TransitGoCity's servers.

To look up timetables, lines and routes, the app sends TransitGoCity's servers stop/line/location identifiers and, where applicable, the request's coordinates — without any data that identifies the user (there are no accounts or logins).

5. Contact form.

If you use the contact form, what you write is sent to TransitGoCity's servers: reason, location, stop, issue, description and, only if you provide them, your name or nickname and a reply email address. This data is used only to handle your request and correct the app's information, is not shared with third parties and is kept for 6 months from receipt and then deleted. You can ask to access or delete it by writing to [email protected].

6. Third parties and advertising.

The app uses Google Maps (maps) and Google AdMob (ads). AdMob may use the device's advertising ID, cookies and technical data (model, operating system, IP address) to show and measure ads, personalised or not depending on your choice. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland you are asked for consent when you open the app, and you can change it at any time in Profile > Ad privacy options. More about how Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

7. Age.

TransitGoCity is intended for people aged 16 and over who use public transport on their own. It is not designed for children under 16 and does not knowingly collect their data.

8. Your rights.

You control the data stored on your device: you can delete favourites and recent stops from the app, or all local data from the system settings. To exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure or objection regarding contact form data, or for any questions, write to [email protected]. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Spain, the AEPD).

9. Changes.

This policy may be updated; relevant changes will be announced in the app.
